Vusani Mlilo, Director of Conversations
Vusani is The Human Project’s digital guru who calls himself the “unashamed technology geek”. He passionately follows global trends and adapt them for local contexts. His experience includes managing the online strategy for Hectic Nine-9, an award-winning South African youth TV show. He has also developed innovative digital brand strategies for key South African retail brands.
Vusani is also an out-and-proud gay man keenly aware of navigating spaces where he is considered “different”. The Human Project is an opportunity for him to live his passion and care for those who are marginalised and vulnerable.
Anthony Wayment-Nel, Managing Director
Anthony moved to South Africa in 2005, finding meaning and joy in working with its diverse, resilient, capable and talented people. He loves the resourcefulness of the country’s media industry, which services 11 different languages on tight budgets while delivering excellent products.
Anthony is the eternal optimist and a champion of the underdog. He’s been there, openly navigating his identity as a proud gay man in a largely conservative society. The Human Project is a manifestation of his values and his mission to foster meaningful development in the local media industry and beyond.
Tarryn Tomlinson, Director of People
Tarryn received a devastating diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis when she was 19 years old, and rapidly lost functionality in her joints. It hasn’t stopped her from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in a
At The Human Project, Tarryn ensures that people with disabilities are accommodated and promoted and she facilitates inclusivity strategies at companies – including our parent company, the WAYMENEL Media Group.
Vanessa Molloy, Non-executive Director
Vanessa is the self-confessed “golden oldie” of the team, providing lifelong wisdom and accounting experience for Leukaemia Research Fund in the UK. The voice of reason and calm, Vanessa provides counsel to the team and represents the seniors whom The Human Project also champions.
